Drawings

So I posted some drawings on facebook today (not the best I know but hey I am learning)  Here they are and later tonight I will explain them all (the bottom one the one holding the mallet that is how I picture Kari from A Guardian’s Life back in 1491 so… the other two will be explained with excepts from my book!!!!  I am in the process of cleaning up the 1st draft so yay!!!!

Stay Up To 7AM

Don’t get me wrong, I love to stay up and read and right and will stay up until at least 5am writing normally on my ‘weekends’ it is later like 8am, (I work 2nd shift at my ‘day job’ and have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off instead) and lately I have been having weird dreams…. really weird…. some of them I wrote down for an idea for a short story or part of one of my many novel ideas.  But last night took the cake, I was, oh I don’t know why, in Dallas (I love Dallas) but I saw this image and trust me I am going to try to repeat this image (it would be a great cover)  and I was trying to buy this image from this guy, then we went into a planning mode… ummm…. let’s just say computer and illegal and gov’t…. then I was in an airport going home with my whole family and they went through my purse then threw it to the crowd of course I panicked my back up drive was in there… well the next thing I know we are driving to the plane (instead of walking I don’t ask questions) with my mom and sister and I asked them if they grabbed my computer and they said no and said it was my life on that computer, I was talking about my writings …. then I woke up…. interesting….  So either I need to stop staying up until after 7 or I need to figure out what these dreams mean and live with it…

The Wolves of A Guardian’s Life (Copyright 2012 Katherine Rochholz All Rights Reserved

First off there are 2 types of wolves those made and those born in A Guardian’s Life Those made are considered mongrels and below those born or married into The Three Great Packs.  Those made* never achieve full transformation *Note made as in they are not blood or married into one of the packs they were bitten by a wolf that had no control under the second night of the full moon.  There are very few female born wolves (1 in about 750,000) that being said if a female is born they will not transform until around the age of 20.  Male wolves have their first transformation between the ages 15 and 16. At first they have no control.  By the time they are 21 they usually are able to control their transformations, going in and out of wolf form.  Except during a full moon all must turn during the 2nd night of the full moon (The Alpha, The Beta, and their council (usually they are a lot older wolves), can prevent turning the 1st and 3rd nights).  There are 3 main forms 1 is human, they have heightened senses, great reflexes and strength.  Form 2 is a mix of wolf and man, normally if they feel a strong surge of anger, or in a fight with a Hunter or another wolf they will use this form.  Third form is the wolf, completely and fully a wolf, they are a bit bigger than a normal wolf and their eyes look human except for their yellow tint. (a 4th achieved by only a few Alphas of the past is possible but rare, it comes in the form of a giant wolf about 5 times larger than any wolf on record, in this form they can).  Once a wolf is 25 they stop aging.  Born Wolves are immortal, but can be killed.  Beheading or Silver to the heart.  Those bitten are not immortal.

BLACK WOLVES

  
The Black Wolves were first created by Lucifer to be his lap dogs, his messengers, his loyal followers.  The are Evil, and the worse they are the more they are rewarded.  Each has the mark of the Black Wolves.   This is the largest pack in the world.  They live out their lives getting an assignment or two from Lucifer.  If they are killed they become a lower demon in hell. They can be saved if they turn their back on Lucifer.  They can become a Gray Wolf or a White Wolf.
WHITE WOLVES
 
The White Wolves were created by God to combat the Black Wolves.  There purpose is to try to exterminate the Black Wolves from the world.  To prevent their influence upon mortals.  They are Pure.  They are Good.  They will become Guardian Angels upon their death.  They can be corrupted as the are also human.  They can become a Black Wolf, or a Gray Wolf giving up their Angel status to be judged upon death.  They all carry the mark of the White Wolves.
The Gray Wolves
 
They first came from the Black Wolves and are the smallest pack.  They will be judged as any human upon their death.  They are the Gray Wolves.  After thousands of years of abuse from Lucifer a wolf named Hemming was sick of it.  But he did not fell he deserved the award of the White Wolves, but broke free from the pack and created a new pack and became the first Alpha of the Gray Wolves.  They are just like any human on Earth.  They live, They can be killed, and upon their death they will be judged.  They can go to Hell or to Heaven.  They all carry the mark of the Gray Wolves.

Reviews

When I get a chance I will review As you saw some old reviews posted recently because I was going to repost them on another blog, but decided just to do everything here, mostly I will ramble about things to vent, talk about my writing, give previews, give you information about my characters’ world, and when I can I will pop out a review!  Since taking the leap into writing down the stories I created since I was 9 (They were all verbal then except a few made into short stories for school) I have been stuck in my own little world and have been a little behind with books… ummm… I have no excuse except I am obsessed with my writing, but I have decided to catch up so to say and take a break (writing 4 books since April 2011 and started a 5th and have outlines for 3 more) has fried Kati’s poor little mind!  So Tuesday and Thursday (06/19 and 06/20)  I am doing a mini read-a-thon 5 books 2 days and I have 3 down and 2 to go and almost done with one of those 2!!!  And when I finish the first readable copy of my 4th book (I mean readable for somebody other than me, I usually go through 2 or 3 revisions before giving it to my editor) which should be at the end of this month, Next month for 2 weeks I am going to go through my TBR list and get as many done as I can in 2 weeks and I am open for suggestions, I have a few on the list and it is a mile long, but I have to be a bit picky so Suggest away Please 🙂

I am surprised but I really enjoyed this book. Until a few years ago I was all about the supernatural all I did was read that type of books but in the last couple of years since I started to rewrite and publish my own writings (I have been creating stories since I was 9, shameless plugs 😉 I know) I have been out of the loop as with all my research and own writings most stories leave me bored because my mind just doesn’t want to process anymore of the supernatural; and this author (and a few others) are drawing me back in! I read it in a few hours (did I mention speed reader?) and I loved the faced pace of this book. Fast=Keeping The Fast Paced Mind of Kati Entertained. My big draw to almost everything I read, well the thing I look for, is the characters. I really liked these characters, I found myself drawn to them. And if I don’t like the characters, I don’t care how good your plot is, I will not like the story. And I loved these characters! There is an art to her story and it will leave you wanting more and Hell’s Phoenix is on my TBR list for next month.

WASTELAND REVIEW

I want to start off with saying this is the first for me with the New Adult, or at least a book that called itself New Adult. And I loved this book. I LOVED this book. I am surprised actually how much I liked it. Though I write about demons, vampires, zombies and stuff like that (Shameless Self Plug here sorry) In fact my new book (out fall of 2012 in the process of polishing up my first draft) has to do with Demons, half demons, and the sort, but back to the story at hand. I don’t like to read about them. I will watch a vampire T.V. show, a werewolf one, I usually give on them though… I think BTVS and Angel are the ones I really still like to watch and watched all of them.  This book reminds me a bit of that Buffy style.  Not because they are boring or anything mind you, it is just I get bored with them because I live in my own world with these creatures. But I give everything a chance and I will not say anything about them until I finish them, so I do bring myself to finish them.  But this book kept my attention and a lot of these new authors out there have and that pleasantly surprises me, and this book was no exception to this fact. So that being said. I loved this book!  Rush has created a wonderfully interesting world and characters that are so fascinating, you can’t help but fall in love with them. Each character has a depth that you don’t find very often and you will fall in love with them.  This book is so exciting and left this reader satsified in the end but still wanting more.  Rush’s next book Awaited is on my TBR list!!!  Check this book out you won’t be disappointed!!!
